Children are the future of our society. Our main goals are to create a carefree life for children, make sure that the children receive high-level education, training and health, grow up physically and mentally healthy in a supportive social environment. The emergence of our children as well-rounded individuals and responsible citizens of the country is the leading direction of the child policy of the independent Republic of Azerbaijan.
I National Forum of Azerbaijani Children was held for the first time on 17-18 December, 2009. The Forum organized by the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, Heydar Aliyev Foundation and NUR Child and Youth Public Union was dedicated to the summary of the year of “2009- Child Year”.
A letter of congratulation by Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, to the Forum participants was read out. Over 250 children from 56 regions of the country participated at the Forum.
An address to President Ilham Aliyev and a Final Declaration had been adopted at the Forum.
The 2nd National Forum of Azerbaijani Children was held by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, State Committee for Family, Women and Children Problems and UNICEF Azerbaijan Office on November 16, 2011. The forum is attended by a total of350 children from 85 districts of Azerbaijan. President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva have been declared friends of children at the second All-Republican Children's Forum in Baku.
A concert of children was presented, discussions held on the themes ‘Equal rights to all children’, ‘New education standards’, ‘Let’s spend our leisure fruitfully’, ‘Let’s protect environment’, ‘Realities of Garabagh in children’s language’, ‘Let’s love and deserve the motherland’, ‘Responsibility of family and society information of children as a personality’.
The Third National Forum of Azerbaijani Children was held on November 17, 2017 with the joint organizational support of the State Committee for Family, Women and Child Issues, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Children’s Fund of UN (UNICEF).
350 children, including those with special talent, in need of special care, and children from other nations, as well as refugee and IDP families attended the Forum.
An exhibition consisting of children’s handicrafts was shown within the framework of the Forum.
During the Forum, discussions were held, with participation of experts representing relevant state bodies, on such themes topical for children as “Let us love the Homeland and be worthy of it”, “Equal rights and opportunities for children”, “Application of new standards in education”, “Children and Internet safety”, “Protection of environment. Healthy lifestyle”, “Efficient organization and appreciation of leisure”, “Role and responsibility of family and society in the formation of children as a personality” and ” Let us convey the truth about Garabagh to the world society”.
An appeal was adopted on behalf of the Forum participants to Azerbaijani President Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and a Declaration was addressed to the world society and international organizations on behalf of the Azerbaijani children.
