Mrs. Bahar Muradova met with Mr.Gulam Isaqzai ,UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan

On June 18, 2020, the Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children’s Affairs Bahar Muradova met online with Mr.Gulam Isaqzai ,UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan . Cooperation  between the UN and the Government of Azerbaijan, the joint activities of the  State Committee with UN relevant agencies, implementation of the gender component of the UN Framework for Sustainable Development, the National Action Plan on Women's Employment, the current situation with COVID-19 pandemic and other issues were discussed during the online meeting.


Mr. Gulam Isaqzai said that new UN-Azerbaijan Framework Document is under elaboration   as a result of meetings and discussions held with the government agencies, civil society and other partners. It was emphasized that the main component of this document, which covers the period of 2021-2025, is gender equality and women's empowerment within the Sustainable Development Goals.


Mrs. Bahar Muradova  stressed the importance of continuing fruitful cooperation with international organizations, as well as non-governmental organizations, noting that further strengthening of this cooperation and exchange of positive experiences will allow to expand activities in this direction.  Mrs. Muradova informed that this year, for the first time, the Committee will report to the Milli Majlis on the application of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Ensuring Gender Equality (Men and Women)."

Mrs. Sadagat Gahramanova Deputy Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children’s Affairs , Mrs.Sabina Manafova, Head of International relations and Protocol Service Department of SCFWCA,Mr. Tarek Cheniti, Head of the UN Resident Coordinator's Office, Mrs. Shams Mustafayeva,UN Resident Coordinator's Office Liaison Officer,  Mr. Farid Babayev, head of the UNFPA Azerbaijan country office,Mrs. Bahija Aliyeva, Gender Analyst at the UN Population Fund Azerbaijan Office also participated at the meeting.
