The final conference of the project "Enhancing the Role of Civil Society in Implementing Gender Sensitive Sustainable Development Goals" was held on June 18, 2020.

The overall goal of the project, supported by the European Union and the United Nations Development Program, is to promote the effective and active participation of civil society in the elaboration and implementation of the gender-sensitive national agenda for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).Other goals of the project include strengthening mutual trust and dialogue between civil society and the government on SDG issues, and improving the understanding and knowledge of civil society organizations on the application of a gender-based approach to the implementation of SDGs.


In the context of the implementation of the SDGs agenda, within the framework of the project a platform was created for dialogue and networking between civil society organizations and the Government, which also takes into account the gender factor.In addition, a grant program was implemented to support SDGs-related projects implemented by civil society organizations that have better understood the framework of the SDGs and increased their capacity on application of gender-sensitive approaches in the implementation of the SDGs.
Ms. Simona Gatti, Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, Ms. CharuBist, UNDP Deputy Resident Representativein Azerbaijan, Mr. HuseynHuseynov, Head of the Department of the Ministry of Economy, Secretary of the National Coordinating Council for Sustainable Development, Ms. Sabina Manafova, Head of the International Relations and Protocol Service Department of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs and Ms.Taliya Ibrahimova, Head of the Legal Support Department of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs made a speech at the opening of the conference.
