Psychosocial support is provided to children and families affected by the war in the regions

Since November 2020, in order to help families affected by the war a psychosocial support project has been implemented with the initiative and participation of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs.

Within the framework of the project, more than 600 war-affected families were visited in Goranboy and Aghdam regions, and medical, social and legal problems were investigated on the basis of a questionnaire.

With the participation of social workers and psychologists from Goranboy and Aghdam Child and Family Support Centers (CFSC), families were assessed in Dordyol 1 settlement of Aghdam, Tapgaragoyunlu, Ashagi Agjakend and Yukhari Agjakend settlements of Goranboy. In total, the initial psycho-emotional condition of 1441 people was assessed, individual and group therapy work is being carried out with children and mothers at risk. Employees of the center also visited families from Tartar region.

In addition, since November, Goranboy CFSC staff has been conducting voluntary psychosocial work with war-affected families, martyrs' families, war veterans and their families at the Naftalan City Rehabilitation Center.

It should be noted that during the war, representatives of the Agdam, Goranboy and Goygol Child and Family Support Centers worked with families placed in temporary shelters in these areas.
