Trainings are being held on combating domestic violence

In the framework of the EU-funded Twinning project of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs on "Strengthening the capacity of government agencies and local referral mechanisms to ensure the safety and support of victims of domestic violence in Azerbaijan" on June 21-25, 2021, the joint trainings have been launched on combating domestic violence, as well as dealing with victims of domestic violence.

The trainings to be conducted by Lithuanian experts are organized according to the “Training for Trainers” concept. About 70 judges representing the various city and district courts of the country will take part in the training entitled "Resolving cases of women's rights and domestic violence in accordance with national legislation and European standards."

The trainings will cover topics such as psychological perspectives on domestic violence, gender stereotypes, blaming the victims, myths and facts about domestic violence, as well as risk factors of domestic violence, typical psychological characteristics of the victim and the perpetrator.

It should be noted that the trainings are carried out in accordance with paragraph 12.6.1 of the "National Action Plan to Combat Domestic Violence in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2020-2023."
