The statement came from Alessandro Fracassetti, a resident representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), who completed his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan, at a farewell meeting with the chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Bahar Muradova on September 23, 2021.

Welcoming the guests, Mrs. Bahar Muradova thanked the UN official for his fruitful and businesslike services, as well as for his contribution to the development of bilateral cooperation between the institutions. She noted that Azerbaijan, living in the days of victory, has a completely different atmosphere. During this period, Azerbaijan has demonstrated its fair and just position in accordance with the principles of international law.

Representatives of foreign countries and international organizations operating in our country experienced a historic moment together with our people: “You also witnessed the writing of this history, stood by the Azerbaijani people in difficult times and made every effort to fulfill the obligations arising from your obligations. Azerbaijan has already entered a period of peace-building, peace and security, and opportunities for new growth are being mobilized. Although you have completed your work here, I am sure that you will always follow the changes in Azerbaijan. ”

Noting the successful visit of the UN official to Barda and Tartar yesterday, he said that it is especially important to visit the regions and get acquainted with the work done. Implemented projects are very important, especially in the areas close to the line of contact, which is now liberated from occupation. We will fulfill our responsibilities to make the projects sustainable.

Alessandro Fracassetti, UNDP Resident Representative, said he was honored to be addressed and expressed his commitment to all the work done in cooperation with the Committee. He stressed that over the years he has intensified his efforts to involve as many women as possible in the measures taken to expand the socio-economic opportunities of women. Noting that the situation of women has become more pronounced in times of pandemics and crises, the UN official said that despite all the difficulties, together we have managed to prevent the problems faced by women.

Emphasizing the importance of cooperation with the State Committee, the UN official provided information on important projects implemented in the framework of bilateral cooperation. She noted that 8 out of 9 Women's Resource Centers in the regions have received the status of non-governmental organizations, including the effective operation of 3 Community Resource Centers, in order to support women's economic activities, increase their economic and financial skills, as well as support them to start their own businesses in the future, stressed the importance of continuing such work. Fracassetti said that the numerous projects have opened up great opportunities for the future and every work done has become a great motivation.

At the end of his speech, he thanked the head and staff of the State Committee for the fruitful results of the successful partnership since its inception.

Mrs. Bahar Muradova further noted that one of the key issues is to further expand the geography of all projects involving women and accelerate the pace of work. She once again thanked the UN official for his important services in Azerbaijan, as well as for his economic and moral support in the implementation of projects and wished him success in his new appointment.
