The role of NGOs in the implementation of the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women was discussed

On July 5, 2022 within the framework of joint cooperation between the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs and the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations an event entitled “The role of non-governmental organizations in the implementation of the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW)” was held.

In her opening speech, Chairperson of the State Committee Mrs.Bahar Muradova drew attention to the Law "On Public Participation" and noted the importance of public councils operating at each state institution.

Mr.Elgun Safarov, Deputy Chair of the UN CEDAW Committee, stressed the importance of representing civil society institutions at the international level and conducting educational activities in this direction.

The event continued in line with discussions with the participation of representatives of non-governmental organizations.
