Mrs. Bahar Muradova met with Mrs.Vladanka Andreeva

On December 27, 2022, Mrs. Bahar Muradova, the Chair of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs (SCFWCA) met with Mrs.Vladanka Andreeva, the head of the UN representation in Azerbaijan, resident coordinator.

Mrs. Bahar Muradova drew attention to the successful results of the relations between the UN and its institutions for 2022, and expressed the belief that very important works for our country will be accomplished in the field of joint cooperation in the coming year. Expressing her gratitude to the UN official for his active participation in all processes and initiatives since her arrival in Azerbaijan, the chairperson spoke about the importance of working intensively in order to ensure the sustainability of the work done, expanding the opportunities to provide support at the necessary moment.

Noting that one of the most important directions for Azerbaijan is the establishment of peace, B. Muradova pointed out that cooperation with the UN and its relevant institutions is a means to realize Azerbaijan's peace initiatives. The chairperson of the committee noted the importance of intensification of the projects related to the involvement of war victims in the recovery process and their adaptation to the new environment in the territories freed from occupation. Speaking about the reconstruction and construction works in the territories freed from occupation, she noted that an initiative was taken to establish a "Family Club" in Agalı village together with a special representative office operating in Zangilan region, and this club will serve for the formation of community relations and the effective organization of leisure time for families.

Mrs.Vladanka Andreeva, head of the UN mission in Azerbaijan, expressed her gratitude to the Chair of the Committee for the warm reception. She said that the topic of women's peace and security is important in the year in which we are living the last days, and that many measures are planned in this direction in the upcoming year 2023. V. Andreeva emphasized the importance of preparing projects taking into account local needs and local conditions in the activities planned for the coming year. She noted that the return of the population in the direction of reviving life in Karabakh is a unique process and includes special needs. She welcomed the idea of a "Family club" to be established in Zangilan and said that it is possible to benefit from this experience in other regions.

The parties also discussed the issue of ensuring the sustainability of the projects implemented in the framework of cooperation with the UN and further expanding them in the future, as well as the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution No. 1325.

Mr.Farid Adilov, Head of the Committee's Foreign Relations and Protocol Service Department,  Mrs. Taliya Ibrahimova, Head of the Legal Assurance Department, Mrs. Aytekin Hajiyeva, Chief Advisor of the Women's and Gender Affairs Department, and Mrs.Shams Mustafayeva, the Coordination Advisor at the UN office, also participated in the meeting.
